Best time to visit

Mercury starts dipping from October and winters hit Dooars. This is considered to be the best time to visit the place since rainfall becomes rare and weather remains pleasantly cool. Sometimes, it may come down to ten degrees Celcius. During this time you can enjoy safaris and visiting sanctuaries.

How to Reach

By Air: The nearest passenger airport is near Siliguri at Bagdogra. Most of the domestic airlines like Air India, Jet Airways, Indigo, Spicejet etc operates regular flight from Kolkata and Delhi.

By Bus: Volvo and normal buses ply from Kolkata to Siliguri. Govt of West Bengal undertaking WBSTC (Royal Cruiser), CSTC, NBSTC, SBSTC and various private operators who ply regular bus service to Siliguri from Espalnade and Karunamoyee Bus Terminus in Kolkata.

By Train: There are regular trains till the stations of Newjalpaiguri (Siliguri), Hasimara, Newcoochbehar, Alipurduar Junction from Kolkata and New Delhi.

Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary

Jaldapara National Park is a national park situated at the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas in Alipurduar. Situated in the Eastern foothills of the Himalayas, it is famous for one horned rhinoceros, elephants and Bengal Tigers, spotted deers, barking deers, sambhar deers, bison, wild pig, hog deer and bison.

Buxa Tiger Reserve

The Buxa Tiger Reserve (BTR) is a 760-square-kilometre (290 sq mi) tiger reserve located inside the Buxa National Park in West Bengal, India, in the Buxa Hills of the southern hilly area of Bhutan. Animals found in the park include, the tiger, civet, elephant, gaur (Indian bison), Indian boar and red jungle fowl.
